putting computer to sleep and making it stay there

I'm having this problem with putting my computer to sleep. It used to goto sleep with no problem. It still does, but it wakes up and stays up. I sometimes have to shut down with the power button, which I hate doing. I recently installed DSL on my machine, so I was thinking my browser wasn't shutting down. Any help? Thank you. Thom

Have a look at the various "Wake On" events applicable to your system. You might get a few clues from these old XP threads.
