Putting a watermark in the background in Word?? 1

I am trying to put in a watermark in the background that repeats itself all over the page and is a line of text slanted at 45 degrees.<br>
The only way I have found that does this is to use the wordart and use a very pale (almost invisible to the eye) colour and then copy/paste this all over the page.<br>

That's a good start, Ben. Try this:<br>

Do what you did, copy/paste all over the page. Then, using your shift key, select all the wordart objects. Using the Drawing toolbar &quot;Draw&quot; button, use the group command to group them all. Cut the object. Go to View-Header and Footer. Hit Edit-Paste Special and paste the object as a picture or enhanced picture into the header. Doing it this way keeps the object away from your document text and puts the watermark on every page. It made an empty file become 19K, but that's not so bad. If it's in the header, it won't add the size for every page you put it on the way your method will.<br>

Also, check out the clipart if you can. I think there's some watermarks in there and/or online. Just insert them into the header the same way.
