Hello again (glad I found this forum!),

Can u easily put documents created in InDesign onto the internet? - so that people can download them??

Would they need a copy of InDesign? Or would it be a case of creating a PDF from the InDesign file and putting that on the net?

Many thanks, PTD

It is of little use to put INDD files on the internet as the end user will need a several hundred dollar program to view. They would also need to download the linked image files separately.

If using InDesign 2, you can export HTML and PDF. InDesign CS does not have direct HTML export.

PDF is the best way to post your design work online.

Jim's right. It's virtually impossibe to maintain any sort of visual integrity for web unless you post the stuff in pdf.

Indesign has an exprt feature that saves a package from the Indesign work to be opened in Adobe's web app: GoLive. Golive is part of Creative suite Premium. Frankly, I've never used this Indesign/Golive feture so can't comment on it. One thing that I can gurantee however is that it will not be able to create the same visual integrity as a PDF. That's just the nature of the web - not the fault of any applications.
