Put newspaper in dog mouth

I've been asked to take some shots of our local newspaper rolled up andinsert into some dog mouths from dog shots. All the dogs have mouths closed.

Ideas on this?

Paint an open mouth.

Google for 'talking animal effect' and there may be some ideas on how to paint a mouth. Talking animals have appeared all the way back in black and white movies.

I didn't choose the photos - my art director did. I duplicated the background, copied the lower jaw area, put the newspaper on a new layer, used layer mask > reveal all on the top portion of the dog to show the paper, then skewed and moved the lower jaw underneath. Softened the whiskers with desaturate sponge and some color burn - turned out okay - not as realistic as an open mouth dog could have been, but...

I'm still open to suggestions since I'm sure they'll have changes.

I figured as much, but had to ask about re-taking the pics.

Have you ever played with the Liquify filter? I've had some success and it may be worth looking into.

You can, for instance ,stretch and mold the dogs lips to look more "open" with Filter > Liquify

It's kinda like working with clay once you get the hang of it.
Who knows, it may help.
