I have a subreport in the Report Footer section of the main report.

The subreport has a Header, two groupings, and a Detail section.

Ideally, I would like the Detail section to format into 2 columns when it prints in the full report.

I can get the Detail section of the subreport itself, alone, to print in 2 columns...without affecting the subreport Header...but when the full report is formatted the subreport Header also flips into two columns.

Is there a way to force just the Detail section of the subreport to 2 columns?

Thanks.

Tom

I'm not sure I understand your issue. A two column subreport must be layed out to go across then down.

The subreport itself is in the main report Footer. The subreport has some Header information that stretches across 7 inches.

There are 2 groupings in the subreport's Detail section. They would lay out nicely Down and then Across, and in fact do when I run the subreport by itself, but the subreport Header stuff gets truncated half way across the page when I run the full report.

I was hoping there might be a way to force formatting of just the Detail section of the subreport so that it looks like the following example...

APPLES GRAPES
Macintosh Red
Delicious Green
Granny Tasmanian
Snow
Red
Beauties

The example doesn't do full justice to the issue because there are 19 pre-defined items in the first grouping and 11 in the second.

The way I do this is with two copies of the same, single column subreport. I use some values/textboxes in the main report to set up the link master child so the 19 items show in the left column/subreport and 11 in the right/subreport.

Sounds like a good plan. I'll try it.

I appreciate the help. Thanks.
