Yes, We have stand alone DVR's that unfortunately do not put the beep on the line. In the past we have used the units that you place between the phone and the handset, which is a PITA. The rep for the recorders suggested that the switch could put the beep on.
We are doing the same thing, but we use a front end recording that notifies everyone that "their call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes". This can be accomplished using a RAN or a voice menu (with no choices defined) The front-end recording will satisfy most states' laws on recording phone calls.
