I am looking at possibly running 4 runs of Cat5 to locations in our whse that are between 400 and 600ft in length back to our closet. I realize that typically anything over 300ft requires a repeater to maintain signal strength and comply with standards. Because of the conditions of the Whse I would rather not have any cabling or equipment(i.e. hubs ,repeater) exposed where it can be damaged. The cabling is being run to wireless access points(Cisco Aironet 350's) and I am only looking to maintain communication speeds of 5.5 to 11 mbps on these runs. Has anyone else in the forum had success at these lengths?
P.S.
1. I understand that when problems arise that my cabling will be suspect.
2. I will be running power through these lines also so I will not be able to run coax instead.
Thanks in advancce for your help.
