Change user configurations automatically (via an agent?)

I want to read and write various settings of our users' notes clients.

e.g. "Internet Mail Format" as I know that some are set differently to others.

Can anyone point the way forward to doing this?

In the Domino Directory, you can create policies for desktop settings, security settings etc. You change a user document to set it to use the policy defined and when the user logs in next the settings should be applied. Internet Mail Format is a field in Desktop Settings, under preferences - Internet. HTH

Ahh, forgot to add I'm using Domino 5.0.8.
Policies are new in 6 arent they?

argh.

You could put some lotusscript code in the postopen event of a form and send it to users.

That way you can edit ini file settings and location/connection documents.

Only problem is it relies on the user reading your email.
