We're running the Exchange Mailbox Cleanup Agent, and it puts anything older than 30 days into the users' deleted items folder. This is all well and good. But when I started moving users between servers, I had the scary realization that the deleted items folders contained items that were over a year old. This isn't good.

I'm looking for a way to purge the users' deleted items folder on a regular basis. I'm hoping this is fairly simple. Any ideas?
Mike Hillwig
mike@hypermike.com
<a href= done more R5 deployments than I care to think about.

I know that in Outlook 2000 the properties tab of the Deleted Items folder allows you to set an archive or delete option for items of "x" age.
Hope this helps.
Al
atc-computing@home.com

We're trying to do this without touching the Outlook client. We need to be able to do this on the Exchange server.
Mike Hillwig
mike@hypermike.com
<a href= done more R5 deployments than I care to think about.

If it can be done I would like to know about also ?
-Danny

View the private information store properties for the server that you want to set the purge on.

there is an option to set the amount of days to keep deleted items for.

Give that a try,

Vernon
