Purge files without backing up first

I am new to Backup Exec. We are running version 10d. Is there a way to purge select files without backing them up first? The CA Brightstor product that I used in the past had a purge job that could be created for this purpose. Does BackupExec have anything like this?

Thanks,

BE will allow you to run an .exe or script both pre-backup and post-backup. When setting up the job, look under Pre/Post Commands.

I would write a script that purges the files, and have it run pre-backup.
