puretek pt-3060 USB 56K modem/hub

Have tried 3 Puretek PT-3060 USB 56K modem/hub and unble to get USB hub to function. Modem OK until power to USB hub is connected and internet connecton is immediatly dropped.
If power to USB is connected first, Windows reports it is unable to communicate with the modem. USB devices are not found by software when connected to the Puretek hub but operate OK when plugged into PC's USB.

Would appreciate any opinions/advice.
