Hi,

I purchased a Micros POS system on a restaurant bid. I was given two terminals with card swipe, 2 printer and 2 cash drwares and the cables(windows CE) . THE HSi SW CD.

After bringing them home, i connected supply, i saw that the HSI SW won't start by itself-- Found that they didn't give me the server.

So installed the CD on my system at home, XP.

Tried remote connection from terminal by updating IT, but it still tries to connect to some old server.

How do i get started? Do any of you have a start up guide or instructions on how to set up the system.

Thank you on any help on how to get started using this SW or on what all am i missing.

what are the passwords i need to get from the seller -- any quick help will be appreciated. Spend 3K for nothing, makes me feel very bad.

Always a crap shoot buying on bid. No help from the seller? You may have to spend some money and pay a Micros dealer for help...

What kind of terminal workstations are these? Are they WS4's or UWS/3s? What Micros product is this? 9700, 8700, 3700???
I work for Micros, so I can give you some idea of what you need, but a dealer is your best bet to get everything working.

You will need a server, a full database server application (Oracle or MSSQL), an empty database shell to install initially.

You will need to SW for the server application, did they provide you that? If so, you may also need a software key with a code and a product activation code to get the workstations up and running.

You may need a programmer who will know how to create menu items, configure reports and a backup program for your database..this is just the minimum requirements..
