We are currently using GP 7.5 with a third party module called Feedmill Manager. We are in need of a system that will track our commodity purchases in detail and the module that comes with FMM is not suitable.

Does anyone know of such a product we might be able to look into that will interface (cheaply) with Great Plains? We are looking at one option right now, but it is missing the interface with POP. We have integration manager but only for Inventory and Payables (and Financial and sales) but maybe that's all we need???

thanks,
b

hmm - another ag person in here... quite interesting - you are probably right on the other side of the river...

I know that we looked at before they did their major upgrade last fall, but that might be a good direction for you...

us?

I 'got' to write our own interface between RSSQL MS Sql and GP.

Thank you. I will forward the link to our purchasing guys. Our vendor offered us a solution as well, but didn't send any information yet, and I can't find anything online.
Something called "REAP"?

b.

To answer your question about Integration Manager - it's now sold in 3 flavors:

1. Financials(General Ledger, Receivables Mgmt, Payables Mgmt, Fixed Assets, Bank Rec, Payroll, Project)
2. Distribution (SOP, POP, Inventory)
3. Financial & Distribution (ALL)

So, most likely, if you have the one that does Inventory, you also have the one that does POP.

We only have the Financials one, but I thought it had inventory on it. hmm will have to check.

I was right. We have Fianncials, not distribution. But I ran a test and am able to import Inventory Transactions and Accounts Payable Transactions. Do you suppose our vendor gave us the wrong reg keys?

It's possible that the configuration of how IM is sold has changed since version 7.5 (that's what you're on, right?) Maybe for version 7.5 Inventory was part of Financials and SOP/POP was separate. I don't have any price lists that go back that far, so I can't tell, sorry.

I think if they did give you the wrong keys, then you would also have SOP and POP. I don't think it's possible to create keys that have one module, but not all for Distribution.

It's also possible that even though IM Financials isn't listed as including Inventory, that it does.
