I am currently using PuppyLinux 3.01 as a LiveCD.

When it comes to setting up the wireless connection eth1 is always found but using autoDHCP is sometimes sucessful (in which case I can access the internet) and sometimes not successful.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance.

This is a low blow, but please take it as funny because I'm just trying to be amused at things that happen when customers meet up with the reality of their own "specifications"...

If you weren't using a "stripped down" distro
You'd have a GUI diagnostic tool to help you...

OK, so back to business, can you tell us more about your hardware configuration? Number of NICs, which NIC is the wireless card, can you tell through IFconfig if it's always being recognized and in the same NIC assignment order, have you checked the DHCP client logs for information, have you checked the AP logs to see if the DHCP request has a problem?

Ha Ha!

I have a wired connection (not physically connected) and a Broadcom wireless adapter built into my laptop.

Can you tell me how I get access to the DHCP client log and the AP logs.

I'm totally new to Linux.

If you have time I have a screen dump of ifconfig & iwconfig before & after success with the DHCP request.

Before getting success with autoDHCP, Ifconfig & Iwconfig Produced:
