pulling data set in SQL with a path to a folder as a URL

I am having trouble (understatement) pulling a variable on a remote server where it is set up with a drive path to a folder on the server from the database field. (oh yea)

I am using Cold Fusion MX and SQL it will pull inside the firewall but of course it can't see the wacks // outside of the firewall. Any ideas?
