So we're in the process of getting our CDR's sent off to another company for parsing. I understand that LD40 has CDR Diagnostics but am not quite sure how to use it. I have a serial cable that connects to the "main" CLI but I think there's supposed to be another port that offers a live stream of CDR data. Any kind of guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.

in LD15 go to CDR_DATA, you'll have to turn it on in the system, also you'll need to configure a tty port as CDR

LD 40 and LD 42 are for if you have the Nortel Huge Tape drive system that took up a whole cabinet. I haven't seen one in 20 years. They may have made then smaller since then, but I haven't seen any.

What is it your trying to do.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

We're installing some call reporting software in one of our subsidiaries and will need to output the raw data from a serial port into one of our servers which has some Windows service which runs and sends any raw data out via IP to that subsidiary. I checked out LD 40 before posting the initial thread but wasn't sure what commands to use. Would anyone be able to assist with the commands? We have 2 MG1000 gabinets and 1 smaller CS 1000-S cabinets. I see an open serial port on the back of one of the MG1000 cabinets and was thinking I could use that once I correctly setup the CDR settings.

Thanks for all your help.

if you aren't doing any cdr today, you'll need to do as I said above, regardless of anything else.

If you have Succession 4.5 there is a whole book on it Titled: CALL DETAIL RECORDING description and formats
DOC # 553-3001-350

There are a few steps.

LD15 (as mentioned above)
LD16 to enable on routes
LD17 to setup a TTY with CTY as user.

Repeat you can't use LD 40 or LD 42.

You setup CDR TTY in LD 17 as CTY and as phonz1 said to do in LD 15.

You also need to say YES to CDR and the types you want to collect data on in the RDB in LD 16
