ooohh publishing. I could write a book on this but i'll try and keep it brief. Not sure how far you are along with it but I'm gonna assume you have the clip done but it is not yet embedded into an HTML document. So all you need to do is open up your clip (.fla file) in Flash. Then just choose File > Publish settings... From the window under the Fromats tab check the boxes Flash(.swf) and HTML(.html).

If you're gonna publish this as the ONLY page in the website or as the first page everyone will see, the uncheck the box that says "Use default names". Then in the field next to the HTML line type in index.html. Under the HTML tab choose the settings that you want (it might be worth playing around with these till you get what you want. You can leave them as the defaults if you're not sure). Next hit OK then go to File > Publish and the HTML document will be genrated along with the .swf file (the .swf is named the same as the .fla). They are both placed in the same folder as the .fla file. So now you've got your index.html page and the .swf file.

You jsut need to stick it on the Web now. Just go to a freespace providor (there's loads around and they're all very similar). The best way to find one is by ging to google.com and typing free+web+space and doing a search. Because it's only two things you need to upload (the index.html and the .swf file) you will probably not need to use an FTP program. You're best using browser uploads cos it's a bit simpler. So look for one that offers browser uploads (most do because it's not as desirable for most people as using FTP because there's only a limited amount of files you can transfer at a time - ideal for you though).

then you just need to sign up to them and they'll take you through the process esily. After that there should be some way of managing your webspace and from there you should be able to upload from the browser the files index.html and the .swf file to the same directory (the root directory of your webspace).

Then that should be it! I'v tried loads of different webspace providors and the most reliable are the ones that use banner ads on your site. If you're really nto keen on this then there are a number of others out there that don't use them and they'll come up on a search too (try free+web+space+no+banner+ads in google.com) I hope that helped. I'm off to rest my weary typing fingers.... :)

nice expo flash_git, you registering with the site?

SHAM: you've probably gone and found somwhere for your files to live on the net, but just in case here's a couple anyway which do not put horrible ad's on your free space:

(free, proprietory online file manager, asp/Msaccess support, never had problems with it when I used it)

(free, ftp upload, PHP/MySQL support, still developing so sometimes unavailable for short periods)

(free, ftp upload if you use their local-rate dial-up, but no PHP/ASP/database support, quick and reliable though)
