Publishing to Microsoft Project 2002 Server

Unable to publish a Microsoft project to Project 2002 Server - receive the following error message: SYSTEM ERROR (0X80004005). I am able to connect to the server from the browser. Tried using both 2000 & 2002 version of Microsoft Project. Additionally, when I try to test the connection via the application, I receive the following error message:

Server Connection Closed
--------------------
Description: The server "piw2kasmlr02" closed the connection before the transaction was completed.

Any help you can provide on this problem will be greatly appreciated.
