I am just finishing up my first director project for school, and would like to post it on the web as well. After I publish the movie as a shockwave file, it works except that none of the Quicktime movies that are in the original director project are in the shockwave file. I have one animation, two QTVR photos and one 5 min video (31 megs AFTER compression). I'm not very familiar with this process, since it's my first project and after consulting my Director reference book it says I've done everything right. Is there some reason the Quicktime movies aren't working right in shockwave? The other files in my project are png, tif, and mp3 and they work in shockwave fine. I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks, Nick

Few possible reasons why QuickTime movies aren't working:

(1) Xtra
You need to include QuickTime Asset Xtra in your Shockwave movie with "Download if needed" option checked.

(2) Linked media directory
QuickTime movies are always externally linked and all external media needs to be in the directory named "dswmedia" for security reasons. (This is not the case for media in web server.)

(3) Streaming/preloading
By default QuickTime movies are streamed, but instead you may need to preload e.g. QTVR before start playing.
