Publishing an ICA client on the server?

The primary application I support via Citrix Metaframe has some sort of problem with modal screens "underlapping" such that you cannot get to the window "on top" because it is beneath all the windows supposedly "beneath" it.

BUT, this problem only exists in versions of the client greater than 4.20, so I use a 4.20 client.

Now, we've got a new requirement. A service vendor has a citrix server that we are able to connect to and use, but only seems to work with the latest clients (6.x)

So, I thought "No problem! I'll just publish the 6.x client on the citrix server and have my users go through that way to get what they need.

My Problem:
is that I forgot how to do that. It has been over 2 years since my Citrix Metaframe 1.8 training, and I cannot remember exactly how to do that. It might not even be possible.

Any pointers?

Thanks

It's perfectly possible - simply publish pn.exe in Published Application Manager.

...or have you tried this and it didn't work? CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

I agree with CitrixEngineer, but publish the pn.exe file which is in %systemroot%\system32\ica passthrough. This one is specially made to work this way.

Well, the Ica Passthrough folder was certainly put there to make this easier - and this is the recomended way of using pn.exe, yes.

However, any pn.exe that is published will work - so if you need to run specific versions, you don't need to put it in this folder if you don't want to.

Or you can simply run the Client Distribution Wizard to update/replace the Pass-Through client. CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
