Publisher URL includes index_ in front of each page name

How to remove hard coded index_ from webpages in Microsoft Publisher
Looking online for help for 2 days now. No success yet. Cannot figure out how to remove the what appears to be "hidden" index_ text at the beginning of each of my 40 webpage urls.

I am using Publisher 2007 and hate the fact that my urls look like

http://www.mywebpage.com/index_myfilee.htm

How do I...
get my urls cleaner?
such as:

http://www.mywebpage.com/welcome.htm

WITHOUT the (index_files)

What works in most products is to create some text that will be the visible part of the hyperlink, then Block that bit of text, and (at least in my Publisher 2003)click on Insert Hyperlink from the menu bar, then drill to the page you want to link to. This technique even works in Lotus Notes, with a slightly different menu route...
