This only happens on one computer within a network of six computers. When using Publisher and saving a file on a different computer via the network, Publisher closes down, forces any other programs which are open (except an Access database) to close down and does not give any prompts for the documents to be saved, consequently all the data is lost. This computer also is very reluctant to boot up - sometimes taking 4 or 5 resets to get it going. It was having trouble closing down, but disabling the joystick appears to have solved that.

I'm not sure where to start, any help would be appreciated.

Jill.

If it takes 4 or 5 resets to get it going the first thing I'd do is reinstall Windows. If you reinstall Windows though, remember your network settings. They may get reset when reinstalling. If that does no good, it sounds like you may have a hardware problem.
