Publisher 2007 Default Directory/Folder

In Publisher 2003 there was a File Locations tab in Publisher Options that allowed me to set the default Open and Save In directories/folders, but I am not seeing this in Publisher 2007. It always defaults to My Documents.

Did MS goof up and forget to include this feature or is it like the rest of the Office Suite, they changed it up so drastically it's like finding a needle in a hay stack?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
 
It looks like your out of luck. This is from Publisher 2007 Help:
Publisher

1.On the File menu, click Save As .
2.Navigate to the new folder and double-click to open, or click Open.
3.Click OK to save your changes to the new folder.

Note You cannot change the default folder in Publisher.

Amazing.

I still have the 2003 version, so I will simply revert back. Actually, I think I will do that for all of my Office products. 2007 has been nothing but a headache. They need to fire whoever messed it up.
 
Just so you know, if you are reverting because of the ribbon, it's in the 2010 version as well.

If it's just the default folder, add it to the Save dialog box. I did this on my computer at work for some of the common network locations. Works like a charm!

Are you saying the ribbon is in the 2010 version?

I will simply go back to 2003 and be happy. There was nothing wrong with it. There is not the first feature in this new version that I have benefited from. I picked it up on one of our new computers for free with the computer and figured I would give it a spin.
 
Yes it is. I can understand wanting to stay with Office 2203 however, if you work for a living and use Office on the job, then not learning how to use the ribbon is shooting yourself in the foot.

Yeah... I use it on the job and at home, but most of the stuff I do on the job is using the same documents over and over. It is mainly word processing. Nothing fancy. I have a few forms I use in Excel. None of what I do benefits from anything 2007 offers me. If anything it slows me down trying to figure out something I use once in a blue moon that I am already familiar with in 2003.

Publisher I use to create our forms and I have used it for other personal projects... two floorplans for the two homes we built... home theater room ( - Cedar Creek Cinema) and various build projects.
 
Actually, you do have another option.

Have a good look at Open Office. It handles MS file formats (pre and post 2007) and it has an interface that actually makes sense. It will also let you save files in MS format for your Microsoft-bound friends.

The price is right too - $0.00

We actually have that installed on one of our computers at the office for the word processing portion. I did not think it had publisher though.
