Publisher 2003 - columns not saved correctly when saving as web page

I receive a newsletter in .pub format produced using Publisher 2003. It contains sections which are laid out as snaking columns which, when I save the newsletter as a web page( using Publisher 2003), appear on the web page as a single long column. Does anyone have a workround which doesn't involve reformatting the original publication?

Getting a snaking column converted to HTML would require quite a bit of work, probably more than Publisher is capable of. Web page creation is one of Publisher's weaker features.
