Publisher 2002 mail merge image OR save to .pub file

Hi ... I am working on a mail merge project with Publisher 2002. The end result will be 4 "postcards" per sheet, formatted like labels. I've got formatting taken care of, and the data fields functioning. (My data are in an Excel file.)

My problem is that I need to include a picture with each card, corresponding to the name of the person on the card. I'd like to be able to merge the pictures along with the rest of the data. From what I've read, I'm not sure that's possible with Pub. 2002.

If that's not possible, I'd like to be able to at least save the merged document to another publisher file, and then I can manually insert the pictures. As best I can tell, "print merge" allows me to "save to file", but it's not another publisher file.

What you need is Catalog merge and that's not part of Pub 2002. You need 2003 or better for that.

JPaules ... thank you! That might be all the solution I need ... I'll talk to our computer guy and see if he can't upgrade me.

Good luck. It's the simplest way to do what you need - hopefully that will be enough justification.
