Published Movie (MX 2004) PDF will not launch

Currently working on modifications to a Director Movie another developer created. I am a newbie to the Director realm and using the trial version of Director.

The original exe opens the PDFs.

I made my modifications using the .dir file and published the movie. Did not change any existing code.

[red] Only added a rectangle field with a new behavior to empower users to re-direct the movie to a different frame sequence.

Now the PDFs will not open. Took the original .dir file compiled it "as is" (no changes) still the PDFs do not open.[/red]

Question:
Does any one know if I need a purchased copied of Director to test the PDF functionality, or do I need another Xtra?

Tried to find the info on Macromedia's site, but only found marketing materials.

[blue]Need a site that clearly states a purchased copy is required to enable PDF functionality - will help me convince the client of the need to purchase the software or help the client see that the modifications are not really necessary.[/blue]
