Hello All,

I have a tracking application published through CITRIX that is used by several in the company to submit job requests. It is in final stages of testing, and there is one problem that I can't seem to get around. THe application is built in Access, and I offer the user a couple of reports in case they would like a printed copy of what they submitted. Access reports need to be attached to a specific printer, but no matter what printer I attach them to I get a warning message asking if I would like to use X printer instead. Any help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Alex

If I understood the question correctly, if the Access file needs to attach to a particular printer, you'll have to install that printer on all the Citrix servers or get the all users to use this printer as a default printer when they want to all this Access file.
As normally the Citrix session will use the user's default printer.

Don't know if this is your case or not.

My problem here is that even when the reports are set to print to the primary group of end-users' default printer, I get an error message saying:

"default" printer is not available. Would you like to change settings to use system default printer (which is basically "default" printer VIA "machine identifier")

This is not the exact wording of course, but you get the idea. Any ideas on how we can prevent this message box from showing up?

Thanks a lot,

Alex

Alex,
As I have not experienced this problem before but I quite like to find out. Is it possible to quote the exact message for us please?

Thank you

This document was previously formatted for the printer Canon iR5570/iR6570 PS3 Production on XXX.XX.X.XX:print, but that printer isn't available. Do you want to use the default printer Canon iR5570/iR6570 PS3 Production (from MachineID) instead?"

So my question is, how can I format my reports so that they print to the machine default rather than a set printer (even if it is the machine default)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot,

Alex

I seem to have found a shortcut around the problem. The warnings are generated by Access (I thought they were coming from CITRIX) so I just had to set warnings off and they open correctly. Now I have a whole different problem though, I will start a new post for that.
