Hello
I'm a Citrix newbie and I have a fairly straightforward question:

Is it possible to publish an application which is not installed on the Citrix server? More detailed, let's say my application is installed on an application server on the same domain as the citrix box. Can I publish it through Citrix or do I have to install it on the Citrix box again?

Many thanks in advance

Hi,

usually you have to install it on the Citrix server.
If it is only an exe file you could try to publish it.

Like EGR said, if its just a simple excecutable, you could get away with just linking through the network to it. However, if its something like Word or what have you, where theres multitudes of other files and registry entries and what-not, then no, you will indeed need to reinstall it on those servers. Hence the awesomeness of Installation Manager in PS4. Easily deploys all the programs to the different servers on the farm.
