Publish a specific dokument

I am publishing a GIS program called ArcMap trough Citrix. it works fine. But we got 20 users that need a special application on this tool. So they will open a specific .mxt file, instead of a .exe file when they start. I can't distribute something that is not an .exe file, and the .mxt file is also lokated on a network drive.....
It is pretty much the same as distributing a .doc file, because that is all the useres are gonna look at. Has anyone tried that.

Has this program made an assocation between
program and document ?
If no, edit register, and coping a simple tag (as tif)
and looking how it works, customize this new in the same
way of tif (associated to photoeditor or other) or better
as a txt file.

Does it work if you publish \\ProgramPath\*.exe \\DataPath\specific.mxt? CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
