same way you assign a private IP address. If you don't have any IP connectivity to the box, go in via a serial cable, log in, select option 2, then enter your mask, gateway and IP info.
Be sure you've got the firewall filters enabled on the system before you put it on the Internet unless you like leaving bait piles for the hackers.
