Why? Because you couldn't be bothered with searching?

Do you want US to search Google for YOU?

I did search

How do you think i know about chapura mirror sync.

ive read little about win mobile 6.0 (works with exchange 2003 sp2 and exchange 2007)

i only come here if i have trouble finding information on google.

i found this earlier too, it doesnt say crap about public folders, just company addres book. Does that mean mulitple public folders? i dont know thats why im asking on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also could i update a windows mobile 5 phone to mobile 6?

awsome thanks shackdaddy.
That is alot nicer then chappura mirrorsync. I downloaded the trial version for now.

And you can sync public on the fly with rossync.

The whole package adds up tho, $550 for rossync for 5 clients, then $69 for each phone for the on-schedule.

Do you know if win mobile 6.0 will be able to sync public folders thru activesync from the exchange server wirelessly? I cannot find a for sure answer on this

thanks

I have never heard anything about WM6 that would lead me to think that it supports PF sync. I'd be glad to find out that it did, but at this point, none of the documentation for WM6 that I've read suggests that.

Yea i kind of figured they would have to release a new active sync on exchange server to allow this, wasnt sure...it is hard to believe that they have not allowed this to be done yet. COME ON MICROSOFT!

Here's the deal: Microsoft can actually build nearly ANY feature. But they do a complex cost analysis and decide where to spend their time. Some of it is spend on security and stability, some on rebuilding the back-end to meet demands that are 5 years down the road, and some on features for end users. Since Exchange 2007 is the last release of Exchange on which Public Folders are even supported, they didn't feel like they needed to rewrite server-side ActiveSync on this release to support them.

But I want to know if WM7 is going to support a sync with SharePoint. It might.

No more public folders I see.

So how are they going to allow us to share contacts and calendars now?

that on-schedule doesnt work with blackjacks and smartphones

what phones do you guys run? I have it running on a qtek 9100, just curious on some other ones that will definately work

By the way, ActiveSync on Exchange 2007 now offers access to SharePoint sites and UNC-path document access.

Since we know SharePoint supports calendars, that's one down. And since SharePoint also supports a contacts repository, that pretty much covers it. How does SharePoint do contacts with Outlook? With Outlook 2003 you can click "Link to Outlook" on a SharePoint contacts list, and a local .pst is created on your workstation and integrated into Outlook. That .pst is read-only from Outlook and only stays in sync with SharePoint. Changes to the contact list can only be made in SharePoint. But you could manage the list there and make it available at the desks.

But what about Windows Mobile? Back to my original point: on Exchange 2007, Exchange ActiveSync supports access to back-end SharePoint databases, so you should be able to keep this data with you when off-line. I don't know the mechanism by which it works yet, but it's there.
