Public folders permissions

On my test server, I have public folders with permissions using distribution lists. Everything has been working fine for weeks. Until today.

Exchange seems to be ignoring the DL's, and only individual users can see the public folders. I can create new DL groups and they work, but the existing ones will not.

I may have switched the group's role (from security to distribution), after noticing that they were incorrect. Switching back has no effect.

Any ideas?

I figured it out...

When you create a universal distribution group and then add it to the permissions on a public folder, it becomes a universal security group. I saw my distribution groups become security groups and the changed them back to distribution groups. The change did not take effect immediately though, which puzzled me.
