Public Folder help

I have done the following for public folder permissions.

Add-PublicFolderAdministrativePermission -Identity "\Marketing" -User "Lady" -AccessRights AllExtendedRights -Inheritance SelfAndChildren

Get-PublicFolder -recurse | Add-PublicFolderAdministrativePermission -User me -AccessRights AllExtendedRights

When I open outlook I cannot delete mail or create folders within the any public folder including the marketing one.

Have I done something wrong or will it take time for changes to take effect?

I added myself and the user with add-publicfolderclientpermission to the marketing folder and and am now able to edit delete etc.

How do I add myself to the [root] of the public folder with owner permission.

Try AddUsersToPFRecursive.ps1

IIRC, you can specify "\" for the top level.
