Public folder database issue

I'll give a brief overview of our setup then get onto the issue..

We have one domain ( 2008 r2 ) with 2 sites each site has its own exchange server ( 2010 ) each server has its own mailbox database for users and also its own public folder database.

Earlier this year we upgraded to our current setup from both a 2000 domain and exchange 2000, this went pretty smooth, a few niggles but nothing too dramatic ( we had a consultant help us with this )

A few weeks after the upgrade replication stopped working, and after a few phonecalls to Microsoft it was discovered IP6 was incorrectly configured on one server, this was corrected and now works great...
During the time of having replication issues we also had an issue with public folders on one of the exchange servers and we couldn't mount the public folder database, keep getting the following error when we try:

So I was looking for help in troubleshooting this issue or removing then recreating the public folder on this server - when users look at the public folders they all see the same, so I'm not sure how it works, are both pubic folder databases on both servers replicated? and could the broken replication be the cause of this issues, and if it is how can we resolve the issue?

If you have replication, you've got everyone looking at a PF store on another server. Look at the PF replication to confirm this. Then you'd need to blow away (probably) the PF database on this server,bring in a new and empty one and then back fill it from the replica on another server.
