Hi there,

Is it possible to create Public folders in Lotus Notes just like we can do in MS Exchange? I was asked to find such a solution and what I see is only a shared folder solution which doesn't serve the pupose it seems.

Please comment on this all.

thanks

No it is not. Exchange and Domino do not have the same mail storage scheme. In Exchange, all mail is stored centrally and access is divided. In Domino, mail is stored in the recipients' mail file, which is reserved to him and whomever he decides to give it to. Thus, the Public Folder function of Exchange is quite impossible in Domino.
However, it is quite possible to implement a public mail archive, and have users publish a mail there. The theory is that the user decides to publish a mail, clicks the button, and everyone else can view that mail in the Public Archive.
That is about as close as you will get. Of course, you will need to program the button (a Simple Action will suffice).

Pascal.
