PtP folder sharing

2 New PC's running XP Pro SP2. Linked via network switch.
One PC has the data base saved on its hard drive.

Question ; what is the most secure way to have another user access this data from the other PC ?

We will be having ADSL installed in the future and want to maintain a good level of security.
