Greetings!

I've been running a lot of new cable runs for our server room 'revamp', putting CAT6 just about everywhere. We would like to move a large bank of analogue modems into another room and run cables from there to the demarcation point.

Is it ok to run several phones across one CAT6 cable? Obviously we only ever run one network device across them, but what's the general practice with analogue lines?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Russell.

With voice it is acceptable to run multiple circuits up multicores (which cat6 is a type of)

However, you may find it cheaper and more convenient to run in a 20 (or more) pair multicore and terminate appropriately (either in a DP or to a patch panel)

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks a lot, Matt; that is good news. We do have some larger multicore cable in stores, so I'll have a look at it and see how we go.

Much appreciated!
