Up until version 2 my understanding was that there was no way for a IPO to fallback to PSTN automatically when you were using third party routers with SCN.

When 2.1 was introduced along came RIP Support, my understanding was the IPO would automatically failover to PSTN if the Network or the local router went down providing that the IPO was in Passive RIP mode, and received a update say a local router was down.

Can you please confirm if this is true if so how do you configure it.

As far as I am aware you still cannot fallback to the PSTN from a failed voip connection - but please let us know if you discover otherwise!

Please excuse my ignorance if you are talking about something else but what is wrong with lcr , Main route using VPN line, 2nd route using isdn/alog lines. Is working at a site of mine.

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

How did you set up the system with lcr to get a fallback to ISDN if the VPN line drops or has insufficient bandwith?

I don't get it to work and it Avaya said it is a know issue.

Cheers

Arnoud

You can program the LCR but it will not work, he wil not see the failure of the IP-Trunk.

I always program a escape code like 8 instead of 0. And 8 Internr shortcode.

So if ip-trunk is down use the 8 to do the calls.

Ok, hang on here. I was under the same impression as arnoud and big70 - but if IPAlot says he has it working at a site I want to hear about it! You've actually tested this (pulled the plug on your WAN connection and observed outbound calls fallback to the PSTN) and it works??

Peter

I have confimred with AVAYA this is not a supported feature, you must use shortcodes to re-route calls upon the wan link going down.

I remember when version 2.0 came out (IPOffice Product Description System Software release 2.0 20th November 2003 Issue 10)said this was a supported feature (page 7-10)called Alternate Call Routing(ACR). Come on Avaya does it work or not work? we would all like to know. I could never get it working.

I think this make reference to when you are using services within the IPO for Frame/SyncPPP, then I will fall back, well so is my understanding.
