PST file splitter?

hi there, exchange 2003 sp2 server on w2k3 sp2 server, client side 2003sp3 on xpsp3

i need to backup the pst file for user, in which there is one archive.pst with 19gb size ......

other then open the pst file to manually split into smaller pst files, any good tool to help automatically split the pst file into a bunch of 2gb pst files?

Not really sure what you're asking for here. There are apparently a few different utilities that will split a large PST file into smaller ones - but I have no personal experience of any of them, so I'm not sure which would suit your needs better - surely you have more information about your needs than I do? You didn't mention in your original posting that you'd already Googled, so it was a reasonable response I think.

Personally, I think PST files are evil, and should only be used for email that users could actually do without, so if the PST file becomes corrupted and refuses to open, they don't really lose out in a business sense. If PST files in general are evil, then 19GB PST files should be banished to the Badlands, never to be seen again.

Tell the user the file is corrupted, and move on. Honestly, can they possibly need concurrent access to 19GB worth of email???

You'd need to manually do the split but to back it up like you requested, Ctrl C, Ctrl V would work.
