PST File Reached Maxium SIze

Hi There...

A user running Office XP professional SP3 was not recieving any mail, Outlook would continually hang on recieving 1 of 1.

Ive since discovered his pst file is 2gb in size. Outlook is displaying a message to that effect and telling me to remove unwanted files to reduce the file size. Problem is ,I cant get into any of his personal folders to delete old messages. Outlook wont open due to the pst size issue.

Is ther any other way/programme I can use to get into the pst folder and remove folders to decrease the size of the pst folder?????

You can try to run scanpst first, it defrag a little too, that may just be enough to let you in.

BUT ! Disconnect from the LAN when you open Outlook afterwards, or new mail may get in and you will be stuck again!

PS:
You should find the scanpst in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033 or similar
