I messed up and changed my file association for .pst files to "Office Component", rather than "Office Data File". How can I get this default file association back? I cannot find that association anywhere on my system.

I have tried renaming the file, repairing Office, reinstalling and none of those worked.

I am trying to get the default association back so that I can import a 400mb .pst file that I REALLY need.

Thanks!

Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Folder Options - click on File Types - find pst - click Advanced - change it to Office Data File.

You could also open the pst file from Outlook - in File - Open - Personal Folder Files
