Hi,

I backed up some mail a while ago in Outlook 2000 with encryption. Whenever I try to open this with any version of Outlook, e.g Outlook 2003 it says i dont have the correct permissions to open it up. Any ideas how I can access the PST archive.

Many thanks in advance

The problem is either what tmt7734's pointing you to (read only) or an NTFS permissions issue (depending on your OS).

Yes it is backed up on CD, i copied it over to Hard drive and repaired using the the outlook repair tool. Now it opens up in outlook but there its just empty.

Why did you use the repair tool? Did you turn off the read only attribute?

I turned off the read only, but get an error message saying archive.pst is not a personal folder. Any more ideas?

Thanks

Have you looked into the possibility of a permission problem as I mentioned above?
