Can I get outlook to import to an OST file?

This is the story. to save on electricity bills and psychical storage space I got a service to host my exchange server. the problem is I have a 20GB ost files and 10GB of disk space from my service. they told me that I have to convert my files from OST to PST and put the PST into a separate folder.

My question is, Since I can read OST files from my outlook from my old server, is there a way I can keep my outlook OST files and have my new mail import its mail to my current ost files while keeping new mail on the online server?

I think this is a job for a genius.

.ost files are copies of your mailbox. Stuff that is being "archived" need to go to .pst files. Those are local files that are not synchronized to a server.

If your provider is supplying 10GB of space, you must move data to .pst files if you want to keep it all.

how about this. I convert the ost files to pst. Is there a way to have my new mail routed to the pst file and also keep a copy of just the new mail on the online server?

the thing is I don't want to move everything around and have to change a lot of rules.

.pst files are extremely fragile files, and I never recommend anyone ever use them. They are prone to corruption, file size issues, and more.

If you want to pay for a solution to convert an .ost file to a .pst file, be my guest.

You can't have MAPI based mail delivery AND dumping to a .pst file unless you create a rule to move new messages from the mailbox to the .pst on delivery.
