Our customer is using two workstations in a peer-peer network. One has PSQL8 and the other is Btrieve 6.15.

If the PSQL8 workstation "creates" a database file the 6.15 machine cannot read it - "not a btrieve file"

In PSQL8 is there a setting to create files in pre 8.x format similar to option in W32MKSET? If so, where can I find it?

The setting is in the PCC. It's in the "Compatibility" section in the engine configuration.
DOn't forget, you can't open a data file with both PSQL v8 and Btrieve 6.15 at the same time.
