For some reason the cloning tool has changed its way of working. Normally the right click allows selection of the area to clone from and then the left click is used for copying that area onto the area to be changed.

Now there are two circles (for example); one with a white border and a cross inside. The second is a green circle which is around the image of the clone tool (alias the cursor in this instance) and moves with the cursor/tool. The right click now fixed the location of the circle with a cross and the the and that stays in the location where it was clicked. Holding down the left button causes the green circle to stay where it is and the white one, still with the cross inside, to move with the cursor, but with no obvious effect on the image.

I have looked hard at how to reset this tool but have no answers. Please can anyone help.

Thanks in advance.

You might try going to File, Preferences, reset preferences (something like that, I don't have PSP on this pc.)

Skyman35: Perhaps you need to do something with the Aligned Mode checkbox on the Options Palette, or possibly the other checkboxes. Worth a try.
