PSP X - Paste into Selection

Hi all -

I need some help please, will try to describe the issue. I want to paste an image I have created into a distorted shape. If I paste simply into the selection of the shape, it cuts off parts of my original image to make it fit - but I don't want it to do that, I want the original shape to be distorted to that shape.
For example, if I created a new image for the front of a packet of crisps. I have the blank packet which is slightly crumpled, but now want to paste my image as an overlay, keeping the crumpled look ..

Is this possible?
