PSP font drop down window error

I have been consistently getting an error when trying to access the font drop down menu within PSP7.04

PSP caused an invalid page fault in

Fonts are available to me for use in Animation Shop, OE, and Word, but i am unable to access them via PSP7.04 without getting the above errors.
I have not installed any new fonts. I only have windows default fonts installed.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible one of your fonts is corrupted or there is a problem with one of the .dll files. You might try the following:

Open PSP and immediately, as it is loading, hold down CONTROL+ALT, it will then ask you to delete all program registries. Click Yes, then let it reload.

You'll have to re-do your PSP preferences.

thank you for your prompt response, Mike. unfortunately that suggestion didn't solve my problem. i, too, considered a corrupt font, however i stray a bit from that thought as the fonts work in other applications.

i'll keep poking away at it.

Have you tried calling Jasc tech support?

yes, i have called Jasc tech support. they're stumped as well, because the fonts work in my other Jasc software. they even sent me a new disk to see if that would correct the problem, but to no avail.

this system was recently reformatted and the fonts had worked for about 8 days after that. something on the 8th day .....

i've scanned numerous times for virus or otherwise, i've cleaned the registry twice. my next consideration is to reformat again in hopes that it is something between windows and PSP. another suspicion was the update patch from 7.01 to 7.04 ... Jasc is looking into that possibility and the patch available on their site.

Try uninstalling and re-installing. Load 7.01 first, and play with it a bit to see if the problem recurs.
