PSP 8.1 - launches every time I open a new image file

HELP!!! OK, seriously: I have a problem - each time I open a new image file (that is assigned to open with PSP) the program (Paint Shop Pro 8.10) launches anew. So if I have opened 5 image files I have 5 versions of PSP opened. Each file in its own PSP program. Terrible. That is the problem. Can anyone help me???

Right click on an image (gif/jpg/bmp) in Explorer, Open With....then in the dialog box select another program to be open such images and make sure at the bottom of dialog box check the box that says always open with this program.

Yes, I ve tried this, but the box is uncehcked by default, so each time I open a file (different one or the same one), the dialog box is unchecked and automatically another version of program is opened :-(

Sorry to tell you this but this is a 'feature' of XP! My advise is not to double click on the picture from explorer but to use browse in PSP.

I don't use XP much, so I don't know, but maybe there's a way to override this behaviour? You could try asking in the XP forum: forum779

I have XP Pro 2002 at work and I don't have that problem. Try right-clicking on the file, then "open with" and then select PSP. I just opened numerous images all within the ONE execution of PSP8-1.

Good luck... now can you answer my question right below yours, re: PSPBRWSE.JBF and the changing of the clocks?
