I'm new to the rs6000 world. In looking at the dealer specs for the machine they're recommending to us, they quote a number of 36.4 Gb Ultra320 SCSI 15k RPM HDDs (2104-4536) with a list price of $2,166 each. In doing a little search of the web, I found IBM 36.4 Gb Ultra320 SCSI 15k RPM HDDs for the xSeries for $468 each. The specs on both appear to be identical. What up wit dat?

The 2104 is hacmp certified, but if you are not running a cluster,am not sure why they are pointing you to that external box, by the way the 2104 is an external expansion raid capable box. it is not an rs/6000. and there are other option for expansion, I believe the fastT are a cheaper solution.Go here and see what you need.:
I shall use google before asking stupid questions!
