PSD's in Illustrator

Hi,

I am working with a piece of work in illustrator wher i need to bring in an image of texture as an overlay for some vectors.

The texture has a transparent area. I have brought the file in as a PSD.

The main problem is that when i print the image, the psd area is printing "shiny"

Im printing on a laser printer if this helps?

What does "Shiny" mean???
Is there dots in the transparent area??
